History

History

Master Remodelers has been serving West Knoxville, Loudon County and Tellico Village, in East Tennessee, since 1998.

The company was founded by Dawn Steimer and her father, Chuck Steimer (now retired) and is “famed” for their outstanding remodeling services.

Master Remodelers is a member of the West Knoxville/Farragut Chamber of Commerce, the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Home Builders, and is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist.

2018

2018 we will celebrate our 20th year of serving Knoxville and East Tennessee

2017

• Master Custom Homes was rebranded to Master Remodelers and relocated to new offices. Around the House became the most listened to weekend show on WOKI.

2015

In 2015 Dawn merged her company with Thompson Restoration & Renovation and Vince Thompson was added to the ownership of the company bringing an additional fifteen years of remodeling experience with him.

2014

Expanded our design and 3D renderings by including the Chief Architect program. Now using Buildertrend software program to streamline projects. Kitchen and Bath University continues to be successfully empowering homeowners to navigate the remodeling process. Dogwood Arts – House & Garden Show Adopt A Stream in Turkey Creek continues to be a team effort.

2013

• Participated in KARM Dragon Boat Race • Won Best Decorated Team Award • Won Second Place in individual fundraising • Adopt A Stream in Turkey Creek • Dawn returns to Zimbabwe, Africa to support humanitarian efforts, orphans and small business development • Celebrating 15 years in Remodeling Business • KBU continues to grow

• Master Remodelers wins Metro Pulses’ – Knoxville’s “Best of the Best” • Offering Interior Design services on every project • KBU continues with Standard Kitchen and Bath as venue

• Expanded services and offered Handy Man division as well as Outdoor Living • Master Remodelers wins Best of Knoxville awarded by HomeBuilder’s • CEO of the Year Award – Estrada Strategies

2010

• Master Remodelers wins Best of Knoxville and Best of Loudon County • Master Remodelers wins Business of the Year – Growth Award • Dawn becomes host of Around the House on News Talk 98.7 FM • Master Remodelers named a Premier Builder for TimberTech • Master Remodelers wins Business of the year – Character Award

2009

• Hallerin Hilton Hill becomes the official spokesperson for Master Remodelers • In a strategic alliance with Southern Kitchen, Dawn becomes an instructor at Kitchen & Bath University (KBU) • Dawn returns to Zimbabwe, Africa to support humanitarian efforts, orphans and small business development • Troy Wilson leaves Master Remodelers to join his wife, Wendy in their family business

2008

• Dawn becomes a regular guest host on Josh Blanchard’s Around the House radio show on WNOX, The Big Talker • Master Remodelers celebrates 10 years in business • Master Remodelers supports Saving Little Hearts Foundation • Managing Partner Dawn Steimer appointed VP on the Board of East Tennessee Foundation for Small Business and • Entrepreneurship • Master Remodelers nominated for Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle • Master Remodelers joins Estrada Strategies CEO and Entrepreneurs Club • Master Remodelers named Best of Loudon in Home Builders category by the US Local Business Association (USLBA) • Master Remodelers supports Hope Resource Center

• Dawn gets her General Contractor’s License • Dawn’s nephew, Troy Wilson joins Master Remodelers after finishing term as a Raven in the US Air Force. • Master Remodelers builds first custom home in Tellico Village • Lions Club Appreciation Award for Community Service

2002

• Built Lenoir City Park Pavilion in cooperation with Lions Club of Tellico Village • Habitat for Humanity house in Knoxville

2001

• Master Remodelers certified as regional Velux Skylight installers • Master Remodelers sponsors Lions Club Gold Tournament

2000

• NAHB/HBAGK Classes: Business Administration, Aging-in-place, Best Practice for construction (above code construction) • Professional education in Green Building, Design Build, Marketplace Building, Age-in-Place, 50+ housing, International residential code • Attend International Builder’s Show in Orlando, FL. (and in ’02, ’04, and ’06) • Chuck and Dawn begin to use subcontractors for much of their remodeling work.

1999

Chuck and Dawn receive a Contractor’s Limited License for remodeling.

1998

Dawn and family move to Tennessee from Rockford, IL to start Master Remodelers with Dawn’s father, Chuck Steimer.
